Description	:	Garry Norman Petersen was born to Norman and Loretta (Wickham) Petersen on November 4, 1945, in Tekamah, Nebraska. He passed away on February 27, 2019, at Tekamah Care and Rehabilitation Center. Garry attended Paddock 23 country school and then graduated from Tekamah-Herman High School before joining the Navy. Read More	Garry Norman Petersen was born to Norman and Loretta (Wickham) Petersen on November 4, 1945, in Tekamah, Nebraska. He passed away on February 27, 2019, at Tekamah Care and Rehabilitation Center. Garry attended Paddock 23 country school and then graduated from Tekamah-Herman High School before joining the Navy. He served two years out of Norfolk, Virginia on the U.S.S. Spiegel Grove. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he joined the family farm, Norman Petersen & Sons, Inc. Shortly thereafter, he married Linda Fleming. To this union, four children were born: Curt, Doug, Jenny and Brett. They made their home on a farm west of Tekamah until Linda’s passing in 2009. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion. Garry enjoyed rodeos, westerns, spending time with his grandchildren, and generally being ornery. He never lost his love of farming. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Linda and a sister, Judy. Survivors include his special friend, Linda Hawley; children: Curt (Renee) Petersen of Tekamah, Doug (Serena) Petersen of Queen Creek, AZ, Jenny (Jeff) Dick of Jackson, MI, and Brett (Miki) Petersen of Tekamah; sister: Shirley (Gary) Jack of Tekamah; brothers: Ray (Leslie) Petersen of Tekamah and Russ (Cynthia) Petersen of Tekamah; 13 grandchildren: Zach, Lacey, Katelyn, Hayley, Megan, Josh, William, Wyatt, Weston, Taylor, Gerald, Brody and Kasen; one great-grandchild: Elise.
