Description	:	Gary was born July 3, 1943 in Concordia, Kansas. He was the fourth and last child of Glenn Edward Buckland and Nellie Elizabeth Duvall Buckland. He had three older siblings – Betty Guipre, Marie Pue and Joe Buckland. He passed away on December 23, 2013 in Hamilton, Montana following a short illness. He was the fourth and last child of Glenn Edward Buckland and Nellie Elizabeth Duvall Buckland. He had three older siblings – Betty Guipre, Marie Pue and Joe Buckland. He passed away on December 23, 2013 in Hamilton, Montana following a short illness. Gary was raised on a farm until about the age of 8. At that time, Gary's father gave up farming and bought a Massey-Harris implement dealership in Deshler, Nebraska. Glenn, Nellie and Gary moved to Deshler where they resided until Glenn died of stomach cancer in 1955. After his father's death, Gary and his mother lived in Paris for a year as military dependents of his sister Marie and husband Eddie Pue. Following their return to Kansas, Gary finished high school. He worked summers on harvest crews from North Dakota to Texas. Gary was married and divorced three times before he married Judy Speirs on April 22, 1999. She survives him. He had three children from prior marriages. Two children preceded him in death – Troy Brian Buckland and Kyisha Chanell Buckland Reding. He is survived by one son. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one sister as well as his sister Betty, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. For Gary, Cloud County, Kansas was always the center of his known universe. It was home wherever he went in life. He was proud to be a fourth generation Kansan and a descendent of a homesteading family. He was proud of his family. He was a proud American, a proud Republican and a staunch supporter of Second Amendment Rights. Gary was well traveled having lived in Paris and Spain. He traveled throughout Europe and worked in Algeria. He owned a bar, raised ostriches, and owned a payphone company. He always had a love for his preferred career of heavy equipment product support. He was a true salesman with a joke for every occasion and the ability to talk to anyone. Above all else, life with Gary was never boring. His motto was "adults are boring" and Gary was never boring. At Gary's request, no funeral service was held. He was cremated. A memorial was erected for him at Bethel Cemetery in Cloud County Kansas. Please remember him with fondness and a chuckle for a joke told. AFTERGLOW I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, so to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, leaving a wealth of happy memories when my life is done.
