Read More	Glasco Sun Feb. 10, 1955, page 1: Glenn Edward Buckland, son of Joseph and Laura Everely Buckland, was born on a farm near Glasco, Kansas, on October 21, 1904. He departed this life on February 3, 1955, at the age of 50 years, three months and 13 days. He was preceded in his death by his parents. He was graduated from Bethel grade school and attended high school at Concordia, Kansas. On December 15, 1924, he was united in marriage to Nellie Duvall. To this happy union were born four children, Betty Guipre of Minneapolis, Kansas; Marie Pue of Park Firest, Illinois; Joseph Edward of Dexter, New Mexico; and Gary Lee of the home. Glenn and Nellie spent most of their lives on farms near the Bethel community, except for a few years spent on a farm near Portis, Kansas. In the spring of 1952 the purchased the Massey-Harris Implement Agency at Deshler, Nebraska, and he lived there until his death. He was a member of the Deshler chamber of commerce and Izacc Walton League. Glenn was an avid baseball fan and played on many local teams for over 20 years. In the latter part of October, 1954, he underwent an operation for stomach cancer and was very gentle and patient during his suffering from this severe disease. His greatest regret at leaving this life was the leaving of his youngest son, Gary, without a father. He leaves to mourn his wife, Nellie, his four children, six grandchildren,one brother, Dale, of Woodston, Kansas, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church in Glasco, Kansas, Sunday, Feb. 6, at two o'clock in the afternoon, with the Rev. Joseph A. Buckle of Minneapolis officiating. Music was by Ronald King, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Edw. Berndt. Flower ladies were Mrs. Inez Means, Mrs. Richard King, and Mrs. Lowell Crum. Casketbearers were Lowell Crum, Lester Duvall, Otha Duvall, Richard King, Ralph Means, and Millard Keener. Interment was in Bethel cemetery, with McDonald Funeral Home of Glasco in charge.
