Gary was born November 27, 1946 in Waverly, Iowa, the son of Robert and Margaret (Foelske) Niemann. He attended school in Waverly and graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1965. Niemann, 62, of Waverly, Iowa, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa. Gary was born November 27, 1946 in Waverly, Iowa, the son of Robert and Margaret (Foelske) Niemann. He attended school in Waverly and graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1965. He was enlisted in the US Army and served in Germany in 1968 and 1969. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Ann Mishler on December 22, 1973 at First Baptist Church in Waverly. He worked at John Deere in Waterloo, retiring in 1995 after 30 years. Kathleen died on June 8, 1994. Gary enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling. Over the years he enjoyed different styles of cars from the classics to the new cars. Gary is survived by his daughter, Lisa Niemann of Waverly, Iowa; one brother, Gordon Niemann of Charles City, Iowa; one sister, Bonnie Marth and her husband, Harold of Rockford, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Kathleen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 10:00 am in Waverly, Iowa. Following the service burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Denver, Iowa.
