He was born on June 13, 1932 at Ellis, attended country school near Ellis and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1949. He married Rena Waltke on July 6, 1951 at St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice and they later divorced. He worked numerous places including Steel Tank, Dempsters, was a truck driver for ICX of Omaha, Beatrice Foods Company and Beatrice Public Schools, retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Beatrice. He was a former member of Eagles Aerie #531 of Beatrice. He enjoyed fishing, repairing tractors, tinkering and making things. Survivors include a life partner, Rena Fielder of Beatrice; three sons, Keith Fielder and wife Janna, Steven Fielder and wife Susan and Richard Fielder and wife Carol all of Beatrice; three daughters, Carol Smith and husband Chris of Beatrice, Lorri Johnson of Olathe, KS and Linda Goes and husband Rodney of Wymore; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Patricia Cody of Valley, Marilyn Saathoff, Doris Luckeroth, Melodie Hoyle and husband Grant all of Beatrice and Teresa O'Conner and husband David of Kearney; brother, Ron Fielder and wife Phyllis of Beatrice; brother-in-law, Clarence Bradley of Beatrice; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Foreman F. and Luella M. Findling Fielder; son-in-law, Dennis Johnson; sister, Carolyn Bradley; three brothers-in-law, Raymond Saathoff, Donald Luckeroth and Virgil Cody. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday morning, August 19, 2013 at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Pastor Kelley Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family's choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 12:00 noon Friday until time of services on Monday. The family will meet and greet friends and other relatives from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
