MOTOR HITS CAR A fatal accident occurred yesterday afternoon at three o'clock when a motor from Beatrice to Pawnee struck a Ford touring at a crossing a mile west of Pawnee Mrs. Boosinger, one of the occupants of the automobile died at the Pawnee hospital at 1:45 this morning. Both her legs had been broken in the wreck and she was injured internally. Her husband sustained a broken leg and six year old son is in a critical condition. He seems to be paralyzed. The Boosingers were taken into Pawnee by the motor after the crash. It is said the crossing is not a particularly dangerous one. SABETHA HERALD (Sabetha, Kansas)- Wednesday, October 1, 1930- Page 1. DEATH IN R. I. MOTOR CRASH The Rock Island east bound motor Sunday afternoon struck an automobile a mile and a half west of Pawnee City. The three occupants of the car, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Bossinger of Pawnee City and their small son were all seriously injured and the car was demolished. The wife had both legs broken and internal injuries from w2hich she died Monday. The child suffered a concussion of the brain, one side is paralyzed entirely, he is still unconscious. The man has only one leg broken and other serious injuries. They were taken to the Pawnee City hospital by the motor crew. Both conductor and motorman say the did not see the car until they were within fifty feet of the crossing. They could not stop at that close range. The driver evidently did not hear the signal. Mr. Boosinger is an ex-service man.
