She was born on February 15, 1925, in Hicksville Township, the daughter of the late Pat and Vera (Rex) Hook. She graduated from Hicksville High School in 1943. Read More	Genevieve (Jenny) Overmyer, 88, of Hicksville, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Hickory Creek of Hicksville, Hicksville, Ohio. She was born on February 15, 1925, in Hicksville Township, the daughter of the late Pat and Vera (Rex) Hook. She graduated from Hicksville High School in 1943. After a stint at GE during WWII, she worked at the Hicksville Bank for 45 years, retiring as Assistant Cashier in 1990. She lived life to the fullest. She was a life long member of the Hicksville First Church of Christ, serving as a deaconess and treasurer, and enjoying the activities of the Kids Growing Older group. Serving her community as well, she was a city council woman from 1990 to 1997. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking and baking for them. Jenny is survived by her sons Michael (Darcie) Cole, James (Cindy) Cole, a grandchild Shawn (Ron) Tarary ; one great grandson Kole Tarary; a brother Ed Hook; stepchildren Candace Overmyer, Jacklyn (Larry) Brown, Rexann (Ed) Tunis, Paul (Denise) Overmyer; four step grandchildren-Ed (Jodi) Tunis, Katrina Tunis, Carissa (Chris) Savage, Sara Brown; eight step great grandchildren-Alexis Kinney, Payton, Travian, Micayla and Jailin Tunis, Grayson, Savannah and Avery Savage. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack; a brother Ray Hook; and a sister Patsy Christner. Funeral services for Jenny will be Tuesday at 10:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Pastor Jerold Tear will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
