Description	:	NOTE- His obituary has wrong date of birth. Also 1843 on headstone is questionable. 7 documents show his date of birth as 1847 and 1848. I personaly intend to save this date-26 Oct.1847. Reasons are documents when he was a boy of 4 and 7 and 14. I think it would make a differnce in a big way looking at a 4 yr. old vs. a 7 yr. old. Marshalltown Times-Reublican August 30,1909 George Benson Dead Well-know Lamoille Farmer Succumbs to Neuritis George Benson, aged 72 years, one of the old settlers of near LaMoille, dide at his home in theat place Sunday afternoon at 2:30 of neuritis and complications of other diseases. Mr. Benson had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Benson was born in Barton, England, Oct. 26, 1836. He came to America in 1865, and settled on a farm near LaMoille, where, with his wife and family, he lived until three years ago, when he retired from the farm and moved to a home in town. Mr. Benson Married Miss Mary Durkee, who survives him, on March 9, 1870. Twelve children were born to the coulple, 9 of whome are living. They are Will and George Benson of Porter, Minn., and Mrs. Hattie Lane, Sam, Walter, Henry, and Ray Benson and Mrs. Elsie Coulter and Lella Benson, all of near LaMoille. Mr. Benson is also survived by two brothers and one sister. They are Thomas and Daniel Benson and Mrs. Mayo, all of LaMoille. The funeral will be held from the LaMoille Congregational church Tuesday afternoon at 2 PM.
