George passed away peacefully at his homein Creighton, Nebraska, with his loving wife and three children and their spouses at his side. George was baptized January 1, 1927, and confirmed March 29, 1942, at Zion Lutheran Church, Creighton, Nebraska. His confirmation verse was Matthew 26:41. On June 1, 1949, George married Dorothy (Dottie) Mae Christiansen at the Zion Lutheran Church, Creighton, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Clifton, Lorna and James. George farmed all his life and raised pigs, chickens, colts, cattle and ran the Babcock Dairy for 45 years until retirement in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, ice skating, dancing, ball games, playing guitar, cards, word search, spending time with his families, and a good game of UNO with the grandkids and great grandkids. George served church offices, sang in the choirs, taught Sunday School and sponsored the Church Youth Group for many years. He is a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Bazile Mills, rural Creighton, Nebraska. George was preceded in death by: parents; brother, Charles Babcock; sister, Alene (Henry) Fischer and brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon (Bernice) Christiansen, Norman (Luretta Brockmann) Christiansen, Ed Brockman, Donald Christiansen, Ernest Christiansen, Ralph Clausen and Marlin Behrens. Funeral services for George C. Babcock, were Monday, February 10, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, rural Creighton, Nebraska. Pastor Terrell Huber and grandson, Pastor Chad Boggs will officiate with burial in Christ Lutheran Cemetery at rural Creighton, Nebraska.
