Description	:	George Colgan, a well known citizen and farmer of Fillmore county, passed away at his home December 13, 1922 about 8 o’clock in the evening, aged 59 years, 4 months and 10 days. Death was attributed to heart trouble. Mr. Colgan was born August 3, 1863 in Stark County, Illinois, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Bridget Heagney of Princeville, Ill., February 16, 1887, who with three sons, Edward, Thomas and William and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Shaner of Denver, Col., and Miss Rose, are left to mourn his untimely death. Death was attributed to heart trouble. Mr. Colgan was born August 3, 1863 in Stark County, Illinois, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Bridget Heagney of Princeville, Ill., February 16, 1887, who with three sons, Edward, Thomas and William and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Shaner of Denver, Col., and Miss Rose, are left to mourn his untimely death. He is also survived by four sisters and two brothers besides a host of relatives and friends. Mr. Colgan had been a resident of Fillmore county for thirty-four years, living most of the time in the vicinity of Grafton. The funeral services were held Saturday, December 16. Requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Healy, assisted by Rev. Father Lutz of Turkey Creek and Rev. Father Hennessey of Sutton, at 10:30 o’clock. Burial was in the Grafton cemetery. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Margaret Shaner of Denver, Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Kelly and Miss Mattie Moran of Wyoming, Ill., Mrs. Will Kelly of Camp Grove, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. George Traphagan, Robert Traphagan of McCook, Frank Colgan of Alma, Leo Colgan of Wilsonville, Mr. and Mrs. Will Joyce of Fairfield and Mrs. Colgan’s sister and brother Mrs. WT Colgan and Thomas Heagney of Peoria, Ill.
