The son of George Earl and Maxine Salmans Martin. A lifetime area resident; except for 17 years when he was a warehouse manager for Houghton Mifflin Publishing Co., Batavia, IL. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Shriners, Scottish Rite, Blue Lodge, Rotary International, Sons of the American Revolution, TKE, Pawnee County Economic Development, Larned Chamber of Commerce, Kansas Press Association and Fort Hays State University Alumni Association. Survivors include; his mother, Larned, his fiancé, Dolores Wren, Larned, a brother, Robert Earl Martin and wife Janet, Prairie Village, KS six nieces and nephews, and fifteen great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by; his father and a brother Thomas Leslie Martin. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Father Mark Cowell presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned. Memorials may be given to the Pawnee County Humane Society or the Larned EMS, both in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
