Whynacht, a life-long and highly respected citizen of New Germany occurred on Thursday, April 20th., 1961, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Timothy Morton, New Germany, where he was tenderly cared for by his sister and nephew, Douglas Morton, during his long and lingering illness. Born in New Germany, 82 years ago, he was the son of the late Edmund and Sophia Tipert Whynacht. Surviving are two sisters, (Effie) Mrs. Timothy Morton and (Adelaide) Mrs. Sylvanus Seamone, New Canada, now residing in Berwick, also a number of nieces and nephews. Four brothers and four sisters predeceased him. The funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon at St. John's Anglican Church with Rev. John Mitchell of New Ross officiating. Pall bearers were nephews, Willie and Ivan Whynacht, Kenneth and Fred Seamone, Arnold Smith,and Floyd Arenburg. The flowers were beautiful, a silent tribute to the departed. He was laid to rest in the family lot in Lakeside Cemetery. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
