Description	:	Mrs. Daniel Allen 1941 Bridgewater Bulletin Springfield, July 18- The death occurred of one of Springfield's most highly esteemed citizens, in the person of Mrs. Daniel Allen, of Lake Pleasant. Mrs. Allen, formerly Miss Lydia Whynot, of New Germany, had been ill for several years. She was one of a family of eleven children; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Whynot; a sister, Miss Ida; and a brother, Charles, all of New Germany, died several years ago. Mrs. Allen, formerly Miss Lydia Whynot, of New Germany, had been ill for several years. She was one of a family of eleven children; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Whynot; a sister, Miss Ida; and a brother, Charles, all of New Germany, died several years ago. Surviving are four sisters, Cora, wife of William Seamone; Adelaide, wife of Sylvanus Seamone, both of New Canada; Effie, wife of Timothy Morton, of New Germany; Mary, wife of George Hirtle, West Northfield; also four brothers, Albert, George, and Gabriel Whynot, all of New Germany; and Harry of Falkland Ridge. Mrs. Allen, who was 69 years of age, was beloved by all. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband and two daughters, Elsie, wife of Burpee Mailman, of Lake Pleasant; and Blanch, wife of Robert Fancey, of Northfield. Funeral services were conducted July 14 by Rev. Mr. Palmer of the United Church of Canada, assisted by Rev. F.A. Hubley, Baptist and Rev. Mr. Hartland, Baptist, of New Germany. Hymns sung by the choir were "Rock of Ages," "Abide With Me," "Shall We Gather at the River," "The Old Rugged Cross," and " Sweet Bye and Bye." With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
