Description	:	TAYLOR, GEORGE EDWIN — George Edwin Taylor was born to James Newton Taylor and Margaret Helmley Taylor on October 23, 1885, at Greenwood, Neb., and passed away on May 1, 1979, at Geneva, Fillmore County hospital, at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 8 days. Read More	TAYLOR, GEORGE EDWIN — George Edwin Taylor was born to James Newton Taylor and Margaret Helmley Taylor on October 23, 1885, at Greenwood, Neb., and passed away on May 1, 1979, at Geneva, Fillmore County hospital, at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 8 days. He was one of five children in the family. His first seven years were spent in the Greenwood area, and in 1892 he moved with his family to Geneva. George attended school in Geneva until the eight grand, and completed two terms of schooling at the Grand Island School of business. His chosen field of endeavor was farming, and he was active on the farm for his entire life. George was married to Gladys May Dyer of Fairfield, Ia., on February 20, 1919, and to them three children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sisters, and his loving wife, Gladys, on May 27, 1963, and one great-grandchild. He is survived by the following: three sons, John Leland and his wife Wilma, of Geneva, Kenneth Monroe and his wife, Gladys of Covina, Cal., Donald Edwin and his wife Mary Ann, of Valinda, Cal.; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son funeral home in Geneva at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, 1979, with Rev. Jay Funk officiating. Mrs. Norval Lomax accompanied Daniel Petersen, who sang: “In My Father’s House are Many Mansions” and “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers were William, and John Taylor Jr., Robert Horn, Edward Sluka, Larry Elznic and Richard Petersen.
