The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, August 16, 2001; pg. 1 ===== George Evert Reiman Sr., son of John and Neta (Allen) Reiman, was born May 25, 1915, at St. Stephen's, Nebraska. He passed away Monday, August 13, 2001, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska, at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 18 days. He attended St. Stephen's Catholic School south of Lawrence. July 23, 1935, George married Loretta Moss in Greeley, Colorado. This union was blessed with three children, Porter, Pamela and George Jr. He lived in the communities of St. Stephen's, Greeley, Colorado, and Glenvil, Nebraska, before moving to the Good Samaritan Center Perkins Pavilion seven months ago. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Loretta, on April 19, 1997; one son, George J.; two brothers, John and Leonard; and six sisters, Katherine Reiman, Anna Lemke, Liz Reiman, Esther Reiman, Margaret Heil and Emma Wittlake. Survivors include one son, Porter Reiman and his wife Shirlee of Hastings, Nebraska; one daughter, Pamela Kellogg and her husband John of Ashland, Nebraska; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 16, 2001, 10:30 a.m., at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Jeff Connett officiating. Music was "Beyond the Sunset" and "How Great Thou Art" with Alicia Ferguson as soloist and Carlita Price as organist. Interment was in Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Moore, John Kellogg, Kevin Reiman, George Reiman III, James LuVaas and Jay Kehn. Honorary pallbearers were Leo Heath, Junior Cuba, Dwayne Aberg, Roger Stokes and in memory Lester Mohling. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of the arrangements.
