Description	:	Leonard Gilbert Reiman, the youngest of nine children of John and Neta (Allen) Reiman, was born May 18, 1917, near Lawrence, Nebraska. He departed this life on Thursday, March 2, 1989, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 14 days. Read More	Leonard Gilbert Reiman, the youngest of nine children of John and Neta (Allen) Reiman, was born May 18, 1917, near Lawrence, Nebraska. He departed this life on Thursday, March 2, 1989, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 14 days. Jim, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, grew up in the St. Stephen's community south of Lawrence. He had been a lifelong resident of Nuckolls and Webster counties. In 1943, Jim was united in marriage with Gladys Hicks. This union was blessed with a son, Melvin (Butch). They made their home for many years farming northwest of Superior. Jim was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Army in the European Theatre of Operations. Following his discharge from service at war's end, he returned to Nuckolls County, where he continued to farm. His wife, Gladys passed away on November 9, 1971. On March 24, 1972, Jim and Arcele Snavely were united in marriage. This union was blessed with a daughter, Tammy Lee. Jim later farmed in Webster County near Guide Rock. In 1979, they purchased Reiman's Bar in Guide Rock, which they operated until Jim retired in May of 1982. Jim always enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends. He possessed a friendly and out-going personality and always took the time to visit with his many friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Superior V.F.W. Post #3355 and the American Legion St. Mihiel Post #103. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys; four sisters, Katie, Liz, Esther and Margaret; and a brother, John. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Arcele of Guide Rock; his daughter, Tammy Lee of the home; his son, Butch and wife Diane of Superior; four grandchildren, David and Dough (sic) Reiman of Hastings, Nebraska, Kevin Reiman of Ft. Bliss, Texas, and Amber Reiman of Superior; a step-son, Jack of Berline, New Jersey; his brother, George Reiman of Glenvil, Nebraska; two sisters, Anne Lemke and Emma Wittlake, both of Superior; other relatives and his many friends. Jim will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure to know him. Funeral services were held Monday, March 6, 1989, 10:30 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Father Frank Machovec was the officiant. Interment was held in the Evergreen Cemetery with military honors by V.F.W. Post #3355 and American Legion Post St. Mihiel Post #101.
