Description	:	George F. Schulenburg, 78 years of age, former sheriff of Tipton county and a man who for years was actively associated with the business interests of this county, died at his home on South Conde street Monday afternoon. Death was caused by a heart condition. In former years Mr Schulenburg was a man of unusual proportions and hen he filled the office of sheriff of this county, attracted attention by his size. Death was caused by a heart condition. In former years Mr Schulenburg was a man of unusual proportions and hen he filled the office of sheriff of this county, attracted attention by his size. Following death the boy was removed to the Young Funeral Home on West Jefferson street for preparation. George F. Schulenburg came to this county when a young man of 18 to work for his brother, William H. Schulenburg, who owned a farm southwest of Tipton. Later he rented the farm of the brother and operated it several years and then purchased 40 acres. Later he purchased 40 more and owned an eighty acre farm which was considered one of the best in the county. In the meantime he was united in marriage on Dec. 23, 1880, to Miss Dora M. Sandmann, of this county and they were the parents of three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Leininger of this county; Mrs. Ralph Richman of New Jersey; and Mrs Fred Mohler of Tipton. All with the widow are surviving. George was a man loved and respected by all and he made and retained friends among all classes. During his four years as sheriff of this county, 1901-1905, he conducted the office in a manner which earned for him the favorable comment from all persons regardless of party affiliations. following his retirement from the office of sheriff, he engaged in the implement business, at one time having the largest implement store in this section, and he and Fred W. Beck were associated in the business. The deceased was born in Ripley county, June 2, 1858, being educated in the schools of that county where his parents, Henry G. and Margaret (Jacob) Schulenburg, were pioneer settlers. The funeral will be held at the Lutheran church in Tipton Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 and burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
