Description	:	George H, Hegge, 73, of Crofton, died February 12, 1989, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD. Funeral services will be at St.Rose of Lima Church, Crofton. Military services will be performed by the Crofton American Legion Post #5283. Pallbearers: Kenny Becker, Alois Becker, Roger Becker, Sylvan Brummer, Duane Brummer, Sidney Schrempp, Tom Janssen, Jim Hames and Stan Schrempp. Mr. Hegge was born January 7, 1916 at Constance to Herman and Grace (Kobold) Hegge. He married Anna Marie Bruening on June 4, 1944 at St. Helena. He grew up in the Constance and Fordyce area. He farmed in Bow Valley and Crofton area and in 1976 moved to Crofton where he worked at Hesse's Impl. in Crofton for several years. He managed the Crofton American Legion for the past 10 years. Mr. Hegge attended school in Constance and Fordyce and was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Church, Crofton; Hartington VFW Post #128. He belonged to the 134th Infantry 35th Division and was a veteran of WW II from February 1941-45 as an Army Sergeant. Survivors include: his wife, Grace; four daughters, Diane (Joe) Janssen, Crofton, Linda (Melvin) Donner, Crofton, Susan (Gary) Paulter, Crofton, Bobbie (Dave) Zavadil, Crofton; four sons, Les, Omaha, Lonnie, Omaha, Bruce, Crofton, and Brian, Omaha; three sisters, Mary (Hubert) Schrempp, Fordyce; Bertha Becker, Yankton, SD., Katie (Florian) Backman, Wynott; and 21 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Clara Brummer; three brothers, Joe (infant brother), Tony, Clarence; and two grandchildren, Steven Donner and Cody Zavadil.
