AGED PIONEER IS CALLED BY DEATH SUNDAY EVENING The community learned with regret the sudden passing of George Haux Sr. one of Walworth county's oldest residents, at the home of his daughter, two miles south of Lowry last Sunday evening. The deceased was widely known in the community and was highly respected, having resided within the community for 29 years. Mr. Haux has been in poor health for many years but it is just of late that he was bedridden. Old age was a contributing factor and his condition became gradually weaker. Last Sunday he became suddenly worse and those near him became alarmed and sent for his children. They were all with him when the end came at eleven o'clock Sunday evening. George haux Sr. was born in South Russia on February 18, 1843. He was married to Elizabeth Merkel and to this union 14 children were born, five of whom survive. In April 1899 he and his wife along with two daughters and two sons emigraated to the United States. The deceased leaves to mourn him, five children, George Jr., Jacob Sr., Christ, of java, and Mrs. Gottlieb Baumesberger and Mrs. Fred Beitelspacher of Lowry, 30 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Interment was made in the Java Lutheran Cemetery, northwest of the city.
