Description	:	George H. Kuper George H. Kuper, 79, of Ree Heights, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at home. His funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Highmore, with the Rev. John Short officiating. Burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. at St. Ann's Cemetery in Miller. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Kuper, Justin Gabriel, Brent Shaffner, Lance Kuper, Derrick Harrison, Jason Nacke, Gary Gabriel, Jerry Shaffner and Jan Nacke. George Henry Kuper was born Oct 16, 1924, to Henry J. and Mary M. (Koeck) Kuper south of Miller. He attended the Spears rural school. He attended the CCC Camp in the Black Hills. He served in the Navy form February 1944 until May 1946, aboard the Saratoga. He married Ella June Palmer on Jan. 14, 1947, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Miller. He worked as a farm hand for Roy Allgas, Roger Paine and Buster Deuter, before farming on his own in Wolsey and south of Ree Heights. He was employed by the Hand County Highway Department for 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Highmore and the American Legion. Survivors include his three sons, Vernon (Mary) Kuper of Woonsocket, Randy Kuper of Custer and Kenneth Kuper of Ree Heights; three daughters, Irene Gabriel and Beth Shaffner, both of Miller, and Rebecca (Jon) Nacke of Lincoln, Neb.; three sisters, Lorraine Martinmaas, Viola Martinmaas and Eilleen Boehmer; five brothers, Bernard, Leo, Jerome, Clarence and Donald; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
