He had reached the extreme age of 90, and had been in failing health for a year or two. Mr. Hiner was born in 1825, and his entire life was spent in this section His aged wife probably only a year his junior is still living, but ill at this time. They had walked hand in hand for 66 years, and will naturally not be separated long by death. Two children survive: Jared A. Hiner, of Doe Hill community, and Miss Sallie Hiner, who made her home with her father. Mr. Hiner was a man of whose long life any county may feel proud, for his example of thrift, honesty and integrity will leave the right sort of impression. Miss Leta Hiner, a grand-daughter, and for two years a pupil of the Monterey High School, went home Wednesday to be present at the funeral. Our Doe Hill correspondent will likely furnish a further sketch of Mr. Hiner's life for next week's issue.
