Funeral from his late residence, lot 13, con. 6, Mono, to St. John's Cemetery on Monday, July 26th. Orangeville Banner, August 5, 1926, page 3 - Isaac Roney Mono lost a highly respected resident recently in the person of Geo. Isaac Roney, who passed away at his home on the 5th line, east, in that township, on Saturday afternoon, July 24th. Deceased, who was in his 49th year, had been in poor health for some time, but in the protracted but unavailing struggle between life and death he bore himself courageously. He was a consistent member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church and also of Purple Valley L.O.L. No. 84, under whose auspices the funeral was held. This took place on Monday, July 26th, from his late home to St. John’s cemetery, Mono, where his mortal remains were consigned to the silent tomb, there to await the trumpet of the archangel, when the dead in Christ shall arise in glory. The funeral was very largely attended. Rev. R. E. Lemon, incumbent of Mono West Parish, conducted the services at the house and grave. The late Mr. Roney is survived by three brothers, William, Souris, Man., Samuel and Andrew, Glencross, and two sisters, Miss Sarah, of Glencross and Mrs. Wm. Cockerill, of Laurel. The pallbearers were six nephews, Williard, Clifford and Herbert Cockerill, Samuel and Henry Walker and James Roney. The floral tributes included wreaths from Andrew and Sara Roney, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Roney and family, Purple Valley L.O.L. No. 84, and The Manufacturers Corporation, Toronto, and sheafs from Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cockerill and family and others.
