He was born July 1, 1908, in Table Grove, Ill. to Henry George and Chloe Mae (Elwell) Sellers. He moved to Mount Zion, southwest of Libertyville and he lived most of his life in Douds. He was born July 1, 1908, in Table Grove, Ill. to Henry George and Chloe Mae (Elwell) Sellers. He moved to Mount Zion, southwest of Libertyville and he lived most of his life in Douds. He was a member of Eldon Christian Church, a longtime Sunday school teacher in Christ United Methodist Church in Douds and a past master of Celestial Lodge 413 AF&AM in Douds. He was a past presiding officer of all York-Rite Masonic Bodies, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a Shriner and member of Twin City Chapter 258 Order of Eastern Star. He had been the sales manager of Douds Quarries Inc. and was a crane operator for the Iowa Department of Transportation. He married Velma I. Wilson on June 24, 1933, in Ottumwa. He is survived by a son, George Merlin of Knoxville; a daughter, Barbara Hermanson of Story City; three grandchildren; and a brother, H. LeRoy of Ottumwa. The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, the Rev. Stephen Conte officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds. Masonic Service will be 7 p.m. today at the funeral home followed by visitation. Memorials have been established to Christ United Methodist Church or Shriner's Hospitals.
