Dedrick died at his home, southwest of Beagle, Monday, Feb. 19. he was born near Springville, Linn county, IA., August 3, 1855, and came to Miami county with his parents, John and Eliza Dedrick, in 1860. Mr. Dedrick's parents, a brother, Joshua B. Dedrick, and two sisters, Katherine Dedrick Rice, and Caroline Dedrick Woods, preceded him in death. He is survived by two brothers, John M. Mr. Anderson, of Osawatomie, conducted the services and a quartet from Osawatomie sang several songs. The I.O.O.F. lodge, of which he was a member, conducted services at the grave. Thus another Miami county pioneer was laid to rest beside his forefathers in Mound Creek cemetery. A kindly soul was Mr. Dedrick, beloved by both young and old, honored and respected by the whole community. he will be especially missed by his brother, Charley, with whom he has always lived."
