Description	:	Block 26, Lot 6, Grave #4 (Graves plotted south to north) George is unmarked, next grave south of his Grandpa, Chris Heins. Louie and Nellie (Heins) Fischer used to have "rotating" wooden, whitewashed crosses. Louie was a woodcrafter, and would take down the one wooden cross every Decoration Day (Memorial Day), replace it with the freshly sanded and painted cross, and take the prior year's cross home to be refinished for next year. Louie's son, J. Henry Fischer, continued to keep "Baby Brother George" marked until the Niobrara Running Water Ferry ceased operations in 1984, and travel became a hardship at his age, by way of Ft. Randall Dam or via Yankton. By the time the Standing Bear Bridge was completed in 1998, J. Henry was in his second year of a four-year battle with latent-form Parkinson's Disease (which killed his mother and his nephew, Jimmy Waldman), thus he was unable to resume marking George's grave. The last time "Baby Brother George" was marked was 1987, the last time all of the surviving Fischer kids got together, Mabel "Marie" (Fischer) Olson, John Henry Fischer, Harold Edward Fischer, Carl Francis Fischer, Marvin Wilbur Fischer, Lois (Fischer) (Wuepper) Peters, and Wilfurd Melvin Fischer. This was the last complete reunion of the surviving children, over the 4th of July and Niobrara's alumni gathering. Sister Louisa Lela (Fischer) Waldman, had died in 1982. J. Henry stated that the remaining children survived Whooping Cough because mother Nellie, who was a "healer" (she was self taught in holistic and Native treatments) applied Mentholated Petroleum (today's equivalent of Vick's Vaporub) to the backs of the throats of the children. She had tried with George, but he was too young and susceptible, and succumbed to the infection.
