Stuart Sell officiated with interment in L'Eau Qui Court in Niobrara. John "Henry" Fischer was born October 14, 1910 to Louie and Nellie Heins Fischer at Lynch. He was baptized Aug. 17, 1913 at the Congregational Church in Running Water, SD. He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton in 1951. June 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Alene Dorothy Babcock at Christ Lutheran Church at Bazile Mills. The union was blessed with two children, LaVon Alene and Lyle Henry. The couple ranched north of Center, where they were engaged in farming and the production of Hereford cattle until their retirement in 1985, when they moved into Niobrara. Henry served as a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Cuoncil, several rural schools and election boards and the Knox ASCS County Committee. He passed away at Alpine Village of Verdigre, Aug 15, 2001. Survivors include his wife, Alene, daughter, LaVon, son, Lyle, two grandsons, one sister, Lois Peters, three brothers, Carl, Marvin and Wilfurd, several neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lela Waldman and Marie Olson, two brothers, George and Harold. ...The Creighton News 22 Aug 2001
