Description	:	George M. Bixby was born at Minonk, Woodford Co., Ill., April 27, 1870. In 1882 he came to Nebraska with his parents and resided at Beatrice, Diller and Steele City until 1892, when he moved to Chicago where he resided until August, 1911. Bixby was born at Minonk, Woodford Co., Ill., April 27, 1870. In 1882 he came to Nebraska with his parents and resided at Beatrice, Diller and Steele City until 1892, when he moved to Chicago where he resided until August, 1911. He then moved to Geneva, where he resided until his death, January 11, 1914. Mr. Bixby was married to Miss Isabel Patterson of Steele City, Neb., July 3, 1902. He is survived by his wife, three sisters, Mrs. F. .F Hartzell and Mrs. Matthew Diller of Diller, Neb., and Mrs. Samuel Diller of Wilber, Neb., and two brothers, Edward G. Bixby of Portland, Ore., and Dr. Joseph Bixby of Geneva. Mr. Bixby was a member of Republic Lodge No. 914, A. F. & A. M.., Chicago and of the U.C.T., Chicago Council No. 30. A short service was held at the family home at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning by Rev. Frank Babcock of the Congregational church with music by a ale quartet. The body was then escorted to the Burlington station by members of the Masonic Order, the funeral party taking the morning freight to Chester. The train had to run about an hour and a half ahead of time in order to reach Chester in time to connect with a passenger train to Chester, in order to connect with a passenger train for Diller. It therefore left the Geneva station about half an hour ahead of the regular time. It was scheduled not to do any switching that day on the trip south. The following members of the Geneva Masonic Lodge acted as pallbearers, accompanying the body to Diller: Fred P. Picard, S. E. Ralsten, Jacob Swails, Lee Huston, Dr. L. W. McEachran, A. H. Steven, Charles J. Warner, worshipful master of the Geneva lodge and W. L. Spear, high priest of the Royal Arch Chapter were also members of the funeral party. The funeral took place from the F. .F Hartzell home in Diller at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. The interment was in the Prairie Home Cemetery. About two and a half years ago Mr. Bixby came to Geneva for the benefit of his health and seemed to grow much better for a time. When Nelson Bros. bought the Weatherford hardware stock in Geneva several months ago, Mr. Bixby was placed in charge as manager and he worked in that capacity until failing health prevented. his parents and other members of the family are interred in the Prairie Home Cemetery.
