| Description | : | Obituary from "Ottumwa Courier," June 30, 1976: George McVey Jr., 55, of Woodstock, Ga., and former Ottumwan, died today at 1 a.m. at the Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Ga. He had been an Ottumwa postal employee for 30 years prior to his retirement. He was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Ottumwa, the son of George and Lillie Crist. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was married to Virginia Wood in May of 1944 in Ottumwa and she survives. Also surviving are two brothers, Wilford of Willow Grove, Pa., and Joel of Marshalltown.
