Mr. George Nissen, born in Benton County on December 12, 1877, passed away in his home suddenly Friday Evening at 11:15, October 29, 1943, at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 18days. Mr. Nissen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. In February 1901, he was married to Christina Holst, who preceded him in death in 1904. They were blessed with one son, Alvin Nissen. Funeral Services held Monday from Lutheran Church. Mr. George Nissen, born in Benton County on December 12, 1877, passed away in his home suddenly Friday Evening at 11:15, October 29, 1943, at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 18days. Mr. Nissen was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. In February 1901, he was married to Christina Holst, who preceded him in death in 1904. They were blessed with one son, Alvin Nissen. On June 17, 1909, Mr. Nissen was married to Dora Holst by Rev. G. Frankie. Since then the couple lived on a farm southwest of Keystone. Surviving are the wife and seven children, Alvin Nissen of Keystone, Mrs. Lydia Franckie of Council Buffs, Elmer Nissen at home, Mrs. Hulda MeIlath and Mrs. Marle Smith Of Hartwick, Iowa. Tech Sargeant Frank A. Nissen in North Africa and Sargeant Paul Nissen, stationed in Australia. Eight grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Steek and Mrs. Minnie Hagerty, both of Omhah, Nebraska and one brother, Frank Nissen of California. Services were held from the home at 1:30 and from St. John's Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock. In charge of Rev A. W. Brauer. Burial was in the Keystone Cemetery. Flower girls were Ruth and Olga Holst, Katheryn Cherveny, Lillian Pingel, Pearl Nissen and Rhonda Franckie. The pallbearers were John Pingel, Ed Cherveny, Willie Ehrnstein, Herman Albers, Henry Sindt and John Spreecher. The Belle Plaine Union, Nov. 4, 1943.
