CHAUSSEE FUNERAL RITES HELD SATURDAY: Lifetime Vermillion Resident Passes Away Suddenly; Burial at Calvary --Funeral rites for George Chaussee, lifetime resident of Vermillion, who passed away suddenly April 24, were held last Saturday at St. Agnes Catholic church. Graveside services were under the auspices of Clay Post 3,061 of the VFW. --George W. Chaussee was born February 22, 1892, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Chaussee, on a farm east of Vermillion. He was a veteran of World War I in which he participated in the Aisne-Marne offensive and served in the army of occupation in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. --Mr. Chaussee was united in marriage to Madeline Maxwell June 16, 1920. To this union were born two children, Francis Chaussee, who has recently returned from service and a daughter who died in infancy. Other survivors are his wife, Mrs. Madeline Chaussee, and two sisters, Mrs. Leo Walz and Mrs. Walter O'Connor. --Interment was in Calvary cemetery. The Olds funeral service was in charge of arrangements. Geo. Chaussee Dies Suddenly --George Chaussee, lifetime resident of Vermillion, passed away suddenly last night at the Dakota hospital where he had been taken Monday after he was taken ill while at his work at Stewart's service station. Funeral services, which will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 at St. Agnes Catholic church, are in charge of the Olds funeral home. --George Chaussee was born February 22, 1892, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Chaussee. In Vermillion, June 16, 1920, he was united in marriage to Madeline Maxwell and to this union were born two children, Francis Chaussee, who has just returned from service, and a daughter who died in infancy. --Mr. Chaussee is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Leo Walz and Mrs. Walter O'Connor.
