Description	:	GEORGE W. DeJEAN Geo. W. DeJean was born near Janesville, Wisconsin, August 14, 1846 and died at his home in Dunlap April 1st at the age of 75 years, seven months and seventeen days. He was united in marriage to Marion B. Tucker, June 13th, 1869 in Rock county, Wisconsin. He lived there three years, moving from there to Kansas where he resided two years. DeJean was born near Janesville, Wisconsin, August 14, 1846 and died at his home in Dunlap April 1st at the age of 75 years, seven months and seventeen days. He was united in marriage to Marion B. Tucker, June 13th, 1869 in Rock county, Wisconsin. He lived there three years, moving from there to Kansas where he resided two years. He came to Dunlap in 1872 and has been a resident since that time. To this union four children were born, two dying in infancy and two surviving. They are Mrs. Luella Gage of Woodbine and Ed, also of Woodbine. His wife departed from this life March 8, 1889. A few years later he was united in marriage to Mrs. Minnie Vint and to this union three children were born. Ralph, deceased; Mrs. Della Houts and William who survive. He enlisted in the army at the age of eighteen and served three and two-thirds months in Co. E. Wisconsin Infantry and nine months in Wisconsin Infantry Co. 2. The war being practically over at the time of his enlistment, he was honorably discharged after his year of service. Mr. DeJean has been an invalid for several years and he was a patient sufferer during that time. Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his loss two daughters and two sons, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Publishe in The Dunlap Reporter (Dunlap, Iowa) on Thursday, April 7, 1921.
