Nibel, was born July 14, 1912 at Paton, Iowa, in the same house where his Mother was born. He passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines Sunday morning, Sept. 26, 1937, after a brief illness, at the age of 25 years, 2 months and 11 days. At the age of three weeks, he was baptized in the Presbyterian church at Paton. In 1915 he with his parents moved to their present home southeast of Dayton, where he spent his happy childhood and attended the happy childhood and attended the Dayton schools and the M. E. Sunday School. In 1929 he moved near Des Moines, where he was employed for two years, and on returning to Dayton has been associated with his father in the dairy business. He was preceded in death by a brother, who died in infancy in 1915. He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, one sister, Velma, and grandmother, Mrs. Isabelle Weeks of Paton. Also many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held from outdoor in the yard of his home on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Watson Herrold. A mixed quartet composed of Mrs. A. A. Erickson, Mrs. Earl Blair, Mr. Ira Magner and Mr. Charles March sang "Face to Face" and "Rock of Ages". Pall bearers were Edwin Eastberg, August Flickinger, Glen Dagen and Guy LeValley. Burial was in Dayton cemetery with T. W. Swanson, funeral director, in charge. In the lines of the poet we would say: In the land of fadeless day Lies the City four-square, It Shall never pass away And there is no night there. And the gates shall never close To the City four-square, There life's crystal river flows And there is no night there.
