Description	:	Funeral services for Gerald Waring, age 80, of O'Neill, were held Tuesday, March 9, 1993, at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. Rev. Marion Knoell officiated. Music was furnished by Dennis and Burnell Von Seggern, Bob Ickes, Rod Heiss and Barry Heiss, accompanied by organist Shari Ickes. Pallbearers were Maurice, Steve and Kevin Waring, Allen and Merle Boelter, and Arnold Miller. Interment was in the Grimton Cemetery. Biglin's Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Gerald Ellsworth Waring was born Oct. 7, 1912 at the Waring homestead at Middlebranch. He graduated from Page High School in 1931 and worked on farms in the Page area until 1936. On Nov. 24, 1936 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Boelter of Walnut and they established their own farming operation in the Middlebranch area. Upon the death of Gerald's father in 1952, they moved to the home farm where they continued farming until 1982 when they retired and moved to O'Neill. Gerald held various positions on his local township and school boards, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. One of his favorite pastimes was taking his nieces, nephews, friends and grandchildren fishing. He took special pride in growing a plentiful garden and sharing the produce with others. He was also known for his musical talent having played in dance bands in the 40s, 50s and 60s. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Evelyn of O'Neill; son Willis and daughter-in-law Sally of Council Bluffs IA, son Arlee and daughter-in-law LaDonna of Humboldt IA; 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren., and countless friends, neighbors and relatives who will treasure his memory always.
