Description	:	Gerald Leon Fellows was born at Sargent, nebrasa on August 18, 1931 to Wliver W and Edith Gorham Fellows. He passed away at Clarkson Hospital, Omah, Nebraska on July 16, 1980 at the age of 48 years, 10 Months and 29 days. He received his elementary education at Morris School Dist I and graduated from the Sargent High School with the class of 1948. He received his elementary education at Morris School Dist I and graduated from the Sargent High School with the class of 1948. He attended the Agricultural College at Lincoln for four years graduating in 1952. While his two older brothers served in World War II, he helped his father with the farming and continued farming after his graduation from college. On August 24, 1952, he was married to Barbara Hudson at North Loup, Nebraska. They became parents to four children: Cathrine Anita, Phenelop Sue, Robert Lee, and Donald Oliver. After his father passed away in 1962, he and Barbara puchased the home place from his mother and have lived there ever since. Like his father before him, he was always interested in good agricultural practices and irrigation. He took active leadership in Sargent Irrigation and the Loup Basin Reclamation District. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church and Sunday School and served in amny offices and on many committees and helped with church projects. Gerald served for a number of years on the Mount Hope Cemetery Board. His body will be laid to rest there, close to the graves of his father and grandfather. Gerald was an inspiration to those about him and he had a genuine concern for others. He had a great many friends and they continually showed concern for his state of health throughout his illness. Besides his wife, he leaves to morn his children and grandchildren: Cathy and Jim Lewis and baby, Michelle of Durham, NH; Penny and Kent Patras and baby, Amy of Plainview, NE; Robert Lee Fellows of Lincoln, and Donald Oliver Fellows of Sargent; his mother, Edith Fellows; his brothers and sister: Carol and Clifford Stevens and family of Sargent; Frank and Jean Fellos and family of Downey, CA; Margie and Wayne Buchholz and family of Lexinton and Lyle Fellows of Ft Calhoun, NE. He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Fellows, his two month old baby sister, Olive Mae and his oldest brother, Donald.
