Description	:	Gerald Lee Brehmer, son of Lester and Violet (Hansen) Brehmer was born at Atlantic, Cass, Iowa on August 30, 1946. He was dedicated to God in infant baptism. On March 26, 1961 he professed his faith in Christ to be the Savior of his soul through the rite of Confirmation and became a member of Peace United Church of Christ of Walnut of which he was a member at the time of his passing. Read More	Gerald Lee Brehmer, son of Lester and Violet (Hansen) Brehmer was born at Atlantic, Cass, Iowa on August 30, 1946. He was dedicated to God in infant baptism. On March 26, 1961 he professed his faith in Christ to be the Savior of his soul through the rite of Confirmation and became a member of Peace United Church of Christ of Walnut of which he was a member at the time of his passing. Gerald was summoned to Eternal Rest on February 23, 1964 at the age of 17 years, 5 months and 23 days. He was killed in a tractor accident on his family farm, five miles northwest of Marne, Shelby County, Iowa. He was operating a tractor in a field while doing chores, bringing cows home and the tractor overturned pinning Brehmer underneath. Gasoline spilled and ignited him and the machine. Queenie, the family dog, ran to the house without Gerald, and his father went in search and found him. Gerald had been attending Walnut High School; was active in 4-H and a member of the Youth Fellowship, Peace United Church of Christ. Gerald leaves to mourn his passing: his parents, Lester and Violet (Hansen) Brehmer; brother Delbert (Judy Hansen) Brehmer, student at University of Nebraska, Lincoln; paternal grandparents Frank and Caroline "Lena" (Pieken) Brehmer of Atlantic; his maternal grandmother, Anna (Larsen) Hansen of Exira; uncles, aunts and other relatives. Memorial services were Wednesday February 26, 1964 at the Peace United Church of Christ, Walnut, Iowa. Officiating was the Rev. Fred Fieker. Musical Selections: "My Faith Looks Up to Thee: and "God Will Take Care of You: by Gary Lebeck. Organist, Mrs. Bernice Larson. Pallbearers: Roger Hansen, Lynn Hansen, Ronnie Rossman, Dale Andersen, Roger Sornsen, Richard Sorensen. Concluding Services, Layton Township Cemetery, Walnut, Pottawattamie, Iowa.
