Mr. Imus was born July 11, 1938 at Cedar Rapids to Lloyd W. and Lora M. (Purdy) Imus. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Ruth Imus; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry "Guy" and Vickie Imus of Cedar Rapids; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Lorelei and Mike Laudauer of Albion, Janalie and Kenny Knopik of Palmer and Karalei and Rick Pitzer of Glenwood, Iowa; and his mother of Fullerton. Additional survivors include 8 grandchildren, Jeremy, Caitlin Imus, Travis and Andrea Landauer, Kody, Karl, Klint and Kurtis Knopik; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives. The family lived in Colorado, Cedar Rapids and Belgrade, where Jerry grew up and graduated from the Belgrade High School in 1956. He entered the Army in 1956, and served in Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in December of 1957 and he served in the reserves until 1962. He worked in Belgrade, Omaha and Lincoln. He married Ruth L. Wilcox on April 2, 1960 at Lincoln. They lived in Lincoln returning to Fullerton to work at the Fullerton Elevator company. Then he began farming with his father in the Belgrade area until 1982. He then worked as the Nance county Weed Superintendent until June 2003. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his grandchildren, being outdoors, hunting, fishing and wood working in his garage. He was preceded in death by his father; 2 brothers, Harold and his wife Lois Imus and Dean Imus; and a sister, Judy Ann Allen. Memorials are suggested to Fullerton United Methodist Church or Fullerton Cemetery or Fullerton Rescue Squad.
