Description	:	Gerald Scholten, age 85, of Alton, died Wednesday, March 2, 1994 at the Sioux Center Community Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Friday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m. at the Van Etten-Oolman- Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City. The REv. Roger Voskuil officiated. Interment followed at Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton. Gerald was born May 25, 1908 at Alton, the son of Herman and Nellie (Den Hartog) Scholten. Survivors include a brother, John of Alton; four sisters, Margeret Scholten of Alton, and Jeanette Riedeman, Bernice Japser and Nelvina Scholten, all of Orange City; a sister-in-law, Minnie Scholten of Alton; and nieces and nephews.
