Description	:	Geraldine Faye Combs was born on the farm south of Emerson, July 16, 1908 and passed away on March 6, 1948 at the Mercy hospital Council Bluffs at the age of 39 years, seven months and 19 days. The body was removed to the Comer funeral home here where it lay in state until the hour of the service. She had been falling in health for the past two and a half years. She attended the. Read More	Geraldine Faye Combs was born on the farm south of Emerson, July 16, 1908 and passed away on March 6, 1948 at the Mercy hospital Council Bluffs at the age of 39 years, seven months and 19 days. The body was removed to the Comer funeral home here where it lay in state until the hour of the service. She had been falling in health for the past two and a half years. She attended the. Forrester school and the Emerson High School, graduating with the class of 1926. Geraldine spent all but the last year of her life at the farm where she faithfully cared for her parents who preceded her in death. For many years she was secretary of the Forrester school, an office held by the Combs family for about 60 years. She also served eleven years as Township T B sales chairman. At an early age she joined the Order of the Eastern Star and for many years has been a member of the Asbury Ladles club, and the Emerson Baptist church. On May 8, 1946 she was married to Homer P. Hampton, Emerson. They remained on the farm until March 1, 1947, when they moved to their present home. During her long Illness, she was tenderly cared for by her loving and devoted husband. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and one brother, Paul, besides a host of other relatives and her multitude of friends. Burial was In the Emerson Cemetery.
