H. Reinders succumbed to the death dealing growth last Monday night at nine o'clock. He had suffered intensely the past five or six years, and the treatment of many specialists was unavailing. He last came home from Hot Springs, S.D., two months ago with all hope gone, and awaited the end surrounded by his wife and children, who alleviated his suffering as much as possible. Mr. and Mrs. Reinders moved from the farm near Arapahoe to Orleans about two years ago, and many friends here believed him to be well, as it was thought his first visit to Hot Springs was successful. Aside from his most intimate friends, the news of his death was a sudden shock beyond the mere expression of words. Mr. Reinders was a pioneer resident of Nebraska, and had lived in this vicinity fifteen years, moving here from Sioux county. He and his estimable family have numberless sympathizing friends in Furnas and Gosper counties. He was a valued neighbor and friend, always kind and genial to friend or stranger. He leaves to mourn his death, Mrs. Reinders, three sons, Lois, Edward and Norbert; and four daughters, Sister Mary, Mrs. Geo. Cole, of Coleridge, Miss Anna, who lived with her parents, and Mrs. J. P. Lambe, who resides north of Arapahoe. The funeral was held from the Arapahoe Catholic church yesterday morning at nine o'clock, attended by a multitude of friends and relatives, who followed their former companion and friend to his last resting place in Arapahoe cemetery. _____ The Public Mirror, November 28, 1912, p. 1, col. 4 Obituary G. H. Reinders was born in Kalker, Germany, Sept. 11, 1846, and died at his home in Orleans, Monday, Nov. 18, 1912. He came to America and settled at West Bend, Wis., 1861, and remained there until the spring of 1888, then moved to Arapahoe, Nebr., and lived there until about two years ago, when he moved to this place. He leaves to mourn his death a wife and seven children. The children are: Sister Birchmans of Stella Niagara, N.Y., Mrs. Geo Cole of Cambridge, Neb., Mrs. James Lambe, Miss Anna, Lois, Norbert and Edward, all of Arapahoe, and also a brother and sister of West Bend, Wis.
