Church Gerald Myers, 26, a truck driver living at Stratford, died at his home Monday evening after three months' illness. Mr. Myers leaves his wife and two children, Donald, 3, and Geraldine, 2, as well as his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Myers, of Stratford, a brother, Floyd, and three sisters, Mrs. Dewey Moore, of Dows, Mrs. Faye Carpenter, of Stratford, and Alberta, at home. He was born near Williams and attended the country schools near Dows. He was married July 7, 1934, to Miss Lorraine Milburn. He was baptized in the Methodist faith and was faithful to his religion his entire life. Webster City Freeman Thursday, May 19, 1938 OBITUARY Gerald Myers Gerald Clair Myers, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Myers, was born near Williams, Oct. 11, 1911, and died at his home in Stratford May 9, 1938, after a three month's illness, at the age of 26 years, 6 months and 28 days. At the age of four years he, with his parents, moved to the vicinity of Dows where he received his education and made many friends. He was baptized in the Methodist church April 17, 1925. In the year 1920 the family moved to a farm north of Stratford where Gerald made his home until the time of his marriage to Miss Lorraine Milburn July 7, 1934. To this union were born two children, Donald Eugene, age 3, and Geraldine Lorraine, age 2. For a time Gerald operated a store in Homer and later he moved to Stratford where he was employed as a truck driver until the time of his illness. Gerald made friends wherever he went and will always be remembered by them as a kind hearted boy willing to help all who needed help in every way possible. He was a loving and devoted husband and son, thinking always of his family and parents. He never complained or grew discouraged but always held his faith and trust in God during his great suffering. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and children, Donald and Geraldine, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Myers, one brother, Floyd Myers, of Stratford, and three sisters; Mrs. W. D. Moore, of Dows; Mrs. F. I. Carpenter, of Stratford, and Alberta at home, besides a host of relatives and friends. Two sisters, Zella, age ten, and Vera, age 14 months, preceded him in death. Gerald will be greatly missed by his immediate family and his wide circle of friends. Funeral services were held Friday, May 13, at the Methodist church in Stratford with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. "Have Thine Own Way," "Pass Me Not" and "Lord I'm Coming Home" were sung by the following quartet: A. T. Johnson, Mrs. George Peterson, Mrs. Paul Johnson and Mr. Thurau. Pallbearers were Carl Ruhl, Pearl Ruhl, Melvin Ruhl, Therely Killingsworth, Orville Shelton and Floyd Page. Burial was madein the Oakwood Cemetery north of Stratford.
