Description	:	Funeral Services for Gerrit Van Wyhe, 66, of Ireton, brother of William Van Wyhe and brother-in-law of Mrs. Henry Marienau of Hawarden, who died Wednesday of last week at the Hawarden hospital, having been in failing health the past few years, were held at 2 o'clock Saturday, May 2, 1964, at St. Paul's Lutheren church in Ireton. At the age of 12 he, with his parents and family, moved to a farm near Chatsworth. In 1915 the family moved to a farm near Ireton. He married Kathryn Schmedhaus in St Paul's Lutheran church in Ireton December 3, 1924. They resided on a farm until moving into Ireton in 1932. Mr. Van Wyhe was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on June 7, 1927 at St. Paul's Lutheran church of which he had since been a member Survivors include the widow: a son, Ronald of Sterling, IL.; two daughters, Evonne and Sandra, both at home: six brothers, John, Bryn and Peter, all of Ireton, Lambert of Sioux Center, Dick of Norwalk, CA., and William of Hawarden: a sister, Mrs. Hattie Butlman of Chatsworth and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mrs. William Pichard and a son, Dennis Eugene, who died in infancy. Hawarden Independent 1964-05-07.
