McLEOD, 81, SUCCUMBS Mother of Local Public Service Official Dies At Kokomo. Mrs. Gertrude Thimmes McLeod, 81, of 1707 Franklin street died early today at St. Joseph's Memorial hospital at Kokomo. Mrs. McLeod had been critically ill the past two weeks after suffering a heart attack. She was the widow of Harry H. McLeod, formerly of Columbus, and mother or Paul A. McLeod, head of Public Service company division headquarters here. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning in St. Mary's church at Lancaster, Ohio, former home of Mrs. McLeod. Mrs. McLeod had been ill for a year and since last June had been at Villa Marie, a convalescent home at St. Mary's hospital. Mrs. McLeod first came to Columbus immediately following her marriage to Mr. McLeod, son of the late Dr. A. G. McLeod, Columbus physician. The husband, who was in the lumber business, died in 1922 while visiting in Columbus. At that time the family was residing at Lafayette. Mrs. McLeod and son, Paul McLeod, moved to Columbus April 1, 1951. when Mr. McLeod became head of the Public Service southern division. Mrs. McLeod was a member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic church. Survivors beside the son and the sister at Lancaster, are three daughters, Mrs. Robert E. Eckis, Buffalo, N. Y., Mrs. Robert J. Kindler, Gary, and Mrs. Donald R. Scotten, New Castle, and another son, H. Donald McLeod, Rantoul, Ill.
