Description	:	Highland Recorder October 22, 1943 Mrs. Gertrude McCray Warner, wife of Sewell Warner, died Wednesday morning, October 20, at her home near Washington, D.C., after a brief illness. A Washington mortuary director brought the body to our local under taker’s place and then it was taken to the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Reese McCray at Headwaters. Two of her brothers in Military Service, one located in Califorinia another in Louisiana, were notified at once by the Red Cross, by J. S. Hansel, chairman of the Home Service department. Funeral services will be held at three o’clock Sunday afternoon at Headwaters church, of which she was a member. Burial will follow at Headwaters cemetery. Highland Recorder October 29, 1943 Mrs. Gertrude McCray Warner, age 28, of Cedar Point, Md., died of a heart attack Wednesday, October 20. She is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. O. R. McCray, one daughter, Rosa Lou, following brothers and sisters: Porter of Hotchkiss, Va.; PFC. Charles McCray of Camp Polk, La.; Pvt. Peyton McCray of Los Angeles, Calif.; Earl at home; Leo McCray of Headwaters; Lucy, Cedar Point, Md.; Ogretta, Anna Lou and Mrs. O. C. Hicklin, Jr.; and an aged uncle. George McCray of Headwaters. Funeral services were held Sunday October 24 at 3 p.m. from the Headwaters Presbyterian church Rev. L. M. Moffett officiated, assisted by Rev. Carl Zigler.
