Kitterman, 69, of 411 Quincy died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in a Houston, Tex. hospital. She was born in Quapwa, Okla., May 5, 1906, to John and Johanna Hartnett Garde. She lived in Ottumwa for about 50 years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Legion of Mary, Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters. She married Robert A. Kitterman Oct. 18, 1926, in Wapello County. He died in 1968. Surviving are two sons, James E. and Lawrence D. Kitterman of Ottumwa; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Jo Wilson, Mrs. Catherine Andrews, Miss Maureen Kitterman, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. Ada Tarbell of Ottumwa; two brothers, Benjamin and Daniel Garde, both of Joplin, Mo.; and three sisters, Johanna Tanoose of Luling, La., Mrs. Mary Kitterman of Ottumwa and Catherine Paul of Great Falls, Mont. The service is pending at the Jay Funeral Home.
