Read More	Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Saturday, August 10, 1968, Page 10: Robert Kitterman Robert A. Kitterman, 61, of 226 E. Elmdale, died Friday at 10:10 p.m. at St. Joseph Hospital following an illness of three months. He had been employed by the Iowa Highway Commission since 1925, as a maintenance mechanic. He designed a truck attachment that sets posts for snow fences in the ground by hydraulic pressure. He was the son of Samuel Ancil and Ada Pearl Wilson Kitterman, born in Ottumwa April 29, 1907. He had lived here all his life. He was a member of Empire Lodge No. 269 and was Master of the lodge in 1952, Clinton Chapter No. 9, Ottumwa Council No. 31, and Malta Commandery No. 31. He married Gertrude G. Garde Oct. 18, 1926, in Wapello County. She survives as do two sons, Lawrence D. and James E. Kitterman, both of Ottumwa; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Jo Wilson, Mrs. Catherine A. Angus and Miss Ada P. Kitterman, all of Des Moines and Miss Maureen R. Kitterman, at home; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Maurice Kitterman of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by two children, one grandchild, and his parents. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Mauldin of East End United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery. Masonic graveside services will be held. Pallbearers will be William Reynolds, Russell Ware, Raymond Gilliland, J.W. Reaves, Edwin Springer and Harold Mason.
