Description	:	Gertrude (Nemitz) Schultz (1905 - 1994) Gertrude Schultz, the daughter of Fred F. and Louise Nemitz, was born on March 12, 1905. She died on Wednesday, May 25, 1994 at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison at the age of eighty-nine years. Gertrude was born on a family farm in Hanover Township. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hanover Township. She received her education in a rural school near her home and at St. Paul Lutheran School. As a young woman, Gertrude helped her family on the farm... Read More	Gertrude (Nemitz) Schultz (1905 - 1994) Gertrude Schultz, the daughter of Fred F. and Louise Nemitz, was born on March 12, 1905. She died on Wednesday, May 25, 1994 at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison at the age of eighty-nine years. Gertrude was born on a family farm in Hanover Township. She was baptized as an infant and later confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hanover Township. She received her education in a rural school near her home and at St. Paul Lutheran School. As a young woman, Gertrude helped her family on the farm until she was united in marriage to Fred W. Schultz on February 4, 1956 when they moved to Denison. Gertrude was employed as a cook at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital for twelve years and at the Zion Lutheran School for ten years. After her retirement she took care of elderly people and her daughter Judy. Gertrude was a loving wife and a caring mother and grandmother. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, their Ladies Aid, Evening Guild, V.F.W., Denison Legion Auxiliary and the Crawford County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and making quilts for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred in 1960; one daughter, Judy in 1985; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Linn in 1984; one brother, Harold Schultz and one sister, Lydia Hollander. Survivors include: one daughter, Ima Jean Hansohn and her husband, LeRoy of Kiron; one son, Wayne and his wife, Betty of Denison; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; also three sisters, Edna Kastner of Schleswig; Leona Aldag and her husband, Ted of Schleswig and Lillie Johnson and her husband, Bayard of Kiron; two sisters-in-law, Vernette Schultz and Lillie Schultz, both of Eventide and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 1994 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, with Rev. Kurt Kaiser officiating the service and grave side rites held at the Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Marlene Hight provided the organ accompaniment for soloist, Henery Henningsen singing "Let Us Ever Walk With Jesus" and "I'm But a Stranger Here" and congregational hymn "What a Friend We Have in Jesus''. Pallbearers were: Jim Steinkuehler, Brent Hennings, Steve Hansohn, Mike McKee, David McKee and Jeff Schultz. The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of arrangements.
