The deceased was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Johann Hayen and was born in Wester Moens, Hannover, Germany, Nov 1, 1856. She came, with her parents, to America and settled in Wayne township. Read More	source: Newspaper Clipping....No Name....No Date Mrs. Margaret Kuhns called by Death Mrs. Margareta Kuhns died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Henrichs, in Scotch Grove, June 6th at the age of sixty-six years, seven months and fifteen days. The deceased was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Johann Hayen and was born in Wester Moens, Hannover, Germany, Nov 1, 1856. She came, with her parents, to America and settled in Wayne township. On the 25 of September 1879 she was united in marriage with W.R. Kuhns of Scotch Grove. Following their marriage they settled on a farm near Prairieburg and lived in that vicinity for eighteen months. Removing from Prairieburg, they located near Scotch Grove, where the greatest share of her life was spent. In 1915 they moved to Monticello and for eight years she and her husband lived an enjoyable life in retirement. After moving to Monticello the family united with St. Matthews church and she lived and died a faithful member of this congregation. She took great interest and an active part in the upbuilding of the church, and they were one of the first members to pledge their support of the new St. Matthews church. When the building was completed she rejoiced to be able to enter the new building from which her funeral was the first to be held. Besides the husband, one daughter and two sons survive her death. They are..Mrs. Chas. Henrichs, of Scotch Grove; Lestus and Harry Kuhns of Scotch Grove. In the heath of Mrs. Kuhns, the husband has lost a loving help mate, the children, a mother whose place can never be filled in their hearts, and the community, a lady who was always willing to lend a helping hand in the work which would be a benefit to them. The funeral was held Sunday morning from the Kuhns home in Monticello at 11:00 o'clock, and from the St. Matthews church at 11:15. Interment was made in the Oakwood cemetery.
