Description	:	Gilbert Hale, the only son of Bowen and Abigail Hale, was born June 26, 1885, near Eureka, Kansas. On June 18, 1913, he was united in marriage to Georgia Carter of Eureka. To this union three children were born, a daughter, Mary of the home, and two sons, Carter and James, who are serving in the armed forces. On June 18, 1913, he was united in marriage to Georgia Carter of Eureka. To this union three children were born, a daughter, Mary of the home, and two sons, Carter and James, who are serving in the armed forces. He was preceded in death by his father who passed away December 29, 1933, and his mother who died June 16, 1938. Gilbert lived in and near Eureka all his life. He was a loving and faithful husband, father and brother, a loyal and helpful friend and neighbor, and will be missed by all. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, three children and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Robbins, Mrs. Grace Bradford of Eureka, and Mrs. Leela Knox of Piedmont, Kansas, besides other relatives and friends. After a long illness he passed away at St. Francis Hospital on Wichita, Kansas, May 25, 1945, at the age of 59 years and 11 months. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday from the Baird Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Father Lynch. Burial was made in Greenwood cemetery.
