Mohr, 88, of Scribner, will be 1:30 p.m. today at United Church of Christ Congregational Church in Scribner. He died Friday, April 19, 2002, at Fremont Area Medical Center. He was born Oct. 22, 1913, on the home place south of Scribner. He attended District 27 School and Scribner High School. He married Geraldine Dunker Feb. 15, 1937, in Schuyler. He was a farmer on his parents' home place and lived there for 72 years, moving into Scribner in about 1985. He was a member of United Church of Christ Congregational Church, the Tri Cs (Congregational Christian Couples), and served on the Board of Trustees at church in the past and was also an usher at church. In the past, he was a director on the Farmer's State Bank Board, and was a member of District 47 School Board. He worked with the Cub Scouts as a youth and 4-H Clubs as an adult leader. He played pinochle in several card clubs for many years. He was awarded the Pioneer Farm Family Award from Ak-Sar-Ben in the late 1960s, in recognition of his family's ownership of the same homestead for 100 years. He and his wife were active for 23 years with square dancing. They belonged to a square dance club and held dances in their basement when they were still living on the farm. He served on the board of the local phone company when it was still locally owned. Survivors include: his wife; a son, Michael of Scribner; two daughters, Janet Griffith of Champagne, Ill., and Peggy Mohr of Elk Grove, Ill.; three grandchildren and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
