Gladys lived most of her life in the Superior area graduating from Superior High school. Read More	Gladys Belle Simmons, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (McMillen) Meier, was born on June 28, 1916 in Cheyenne County, Kansas. She passed away on December 6, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 8 days. Gladys lived most of her life in the Superior area graduating from Superior High school. She was united in marriage to Dale Simmons in 1942, this union was blessed with a daughter, they later divorced. Gladys owned and operated two grocery stores in Republic, Kansas and later through the years she was employed at the Union Hotel as a clerk and laundry manager, Lesh Drug and Deuel Pharmacy. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church, also a member of the VFW, American Legion Auxiliary and Rebekah's. She currently resided at the Superior Good Samaritan Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Hugh, Eugene "Turk", Richard and James Meier and a grandson, Kenneth Dale. She is survived by her daughter Diana Springer and husband Victor; and 3 grandchildren, Carlene Boner and husband Gene, Christine Manthei and husband Russ and David all of Hastings, Nebraska; 3 great grandchildren, Jeremy Tedford, Brittany Boner and Matthew Boner; other relatives and a host of friends.
